Healthy Juices

Diets rich in fruits and vegetables are associated with good health and a lower risk related to chronic diseases. Pure 100% juices made from fruits and vegetables are considered to be healthy as they contain essential nutrients. It is recommended to consume pure fruit and vegetable juice in moderate quantities daily.

Pure juices retain most of the nutrients of the whole fruit and thus contribute to good health. The technique used to make pure juices is called ‘Cold-press’. In this, a hydraulic cold press is used to extract the juice from fruits and vegetables. The juices are not pasteurised and do go through any high-pressure processing (HPP). This healthy juices does not contain any added sweeteners, artificial flavours or preservatives.

Manufacturing of juices
High-quality fruits and vegetables are procured and washed thoroughly. Washing can be done by using a high-pressure soak or spray system. The unwanted parts of the fruits and vegetables are removed.

The cold-press juices can be made in two stages. In the first stage, the fruit or the vegetable is compressed to form a pulp. This is then put into a large feeder hopper feeding tube.

In the second stage, the hydraulic cold press is used to apply extreme pressure to the pulp which is placed between the two plates. This causes the juice from the pulp to fall into the collecting tray and the fibre content is left in the filter bag. This is done at a low speed. This process produces no heat and the nutrient value of the juice is retained. Once the juice is extracted it can be consumed raw within 3 days.

Health benefits
Cold-pressed juices retain the nutrients and the fresh taste of the fruits and vegetables. These juices allow you to enjoy the fruit or vegetable in its purest form.

● The high-potassium and low-sodium characteristics of most juices help to maintain healthy blood pressure. As there is a lack of fat in juices it is considered to be good for the cardiovascular system.

● Vitamins are essential for the body and the body cannot produce them. Most juices contain vitamin C which is essential for blood vessels and muscle. Vitamin C also reaches the brain and has a therapeutic role against stroke. Folate present in the juice is anti-inflammatory.

● Juices contain phytochemicals like polyphenols and carotenoids which have a positive effect on bone health. Juices contain flavonoids which are associated with good cardiovascular health. Some juices play an important role in the prevention of some types of cancer.

Fruits and vegetable juices contain essential vitamins, minerals, and bioactive compounds which provide many health benefits. Juices can be consumed in moderate amounts as part of a balanced diet. They also help to reduce the risk of chronic diseases.
