Nano technology has been widely used in every field. There are copious opportunity for the science and technology to invent newer applications every now and then with the help of nano particles. Especially with rare earth metals like tungsten, there can be plenty of applications.

When talking about the uses of nano technology, one can never miss talking about tungsten powder. They are widely used in many fields. The nano particles of tungsten can also be made into tungsten nano alloys or nano compounds. All of these are used in many purposes.

The metal oxides in the tungsten that comprise of nano particles are used as pigments. When comparing the normal wavelength of tungsten and it nano counterpart, they are very smaller than the visible wavelength of light. Thus, the light acts actively with these particles in an unusual way. Thus in creating superior colors and pigments, these nano tungsten powders are highly used!

In the inorganic pigments, there should be proper homogeneous lattice level. If this is not maintained, then the level mixing will not happen properly. This metal allows proper mixing of the same. Here tungsten nano compounds are used.

Rare Earth Element used in Multiple Purpose is Tungsten Powder

Any substance that contain the tungsten in nano scale like tungsten disulfide are very useful in lubrication process. They are used in lubricating additives. This is because they are capable of making the surface thinner and the films become thinner. This reduces the cost incurred in the lubrication process. Also, improves the efficiency of machines. The life of a motor or an engine gets added up and they last long.

In high purity form, one can get sodium tungsten oxide particles. These are very useful in the analysis of carbon and sulfur.

In the field of electronics, they have a vast range of utilities. They are used in cathode ray tubes, chemical sensors, and as heater coils. They are also a part in photocopiers and laser printers. They are used in magnetrons in microwave ovens and also used in the manufacturing of charger wires. In the household lamps, most of them consist of this material! Video camera lights, airport runway markers and reflectors are made using tungsten!
